Declutter Your Life This Autumn
Posted by siteadmin on September 10, 2026
Autumn is a lot like counselling: it’s the honest work of shedding what you don’t need to carry anymore.
It’s a seasonal reset that forces a pause,
To strip back the clutter and look at the cause.
It proves that unloading a heavy, old weight,
Isn’t a breakdown—it just clears the slate.
You drop what is hindering so new roots can grow,
Trusting the timing and letting it go.
We all need a mental declutter from time to time

Past or Present?
Posted by siteadmin on August 13, 2026
Some people wonder why the counselling I offer incorporates looking at their experiences and situations in the past, as well as thinking about what’s happening right now
For me, this quote sums it up perfectly I think x
If we spend our time living in the past, we miss being able to experience what’s truly happening now or being able to fully embrace new ideas or situations that might benefit us.
Equally, if we spend our time living in the present, we miss being able to reflect and grow, extend our choices or make different decisions as we will always come up with - Read More
Is counselling right for me?
Posted by siteadmin on August 9, 2026
I know the path is steep right now,
And heavy clouds hang on your brow.
But take a breath, and look at me —
You have more strength than you can see.
I will sit here by your side,
Through every rough and turning tide.
You survived the storm that brought you here;
You have the truth to face the fear.
Together we will see it through,
And find the path that’s right for you.
You are unbroken, wise, and true —
Step forward now, and trust in you.

Why are you waiting?
Posted by siteadmin on March 19, 2026
Why are you waiting? Are you waiting for the sun to shine, the children to be older, a holiday to start or end, a birthday / person / feeling to pass before you “start”?So much time is spent waiting…”I just need to do this or get past this and then I can think about that”And in the meantime what else have you discarded or passed by whilst blinkered and trapped in the point of waiting for a “better” or the “right” time to come?Sometimes we need to trust in the wait, its active and it has purpose only when we notice - Read More

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Martin Luther King Jr.What matters to you today? But perhaps this is a question that feels difficult to answer right now?
If you world means that there never seems to be the right time or space to really take stock of who you are, what - Read More

Tomorow begins Today
Posted by siteadmin on June 3, 2021
Tomorrow begins today – it doesn’t matter what time today but it’s definitely here. Love, Relationships, Discoveries, Curiosity, Possibility – they are all here TODAYDepression, Anxiety, Phobias, OCD, feeling sad or afraid or lonely – these are all the tools of the ancient parts of our brains that fought predators and was on high alert to keep us safe. But here’s the thing – we don’t need to use that part of our ancient reptilian brain in our modern lives as much, things change. We change. We have changed.
Our reptilian brains negative bias of …”oooh best not do that just - Read More

It’s all about the little steps…
Posted by siteadmin on April 13, 2018
Have just got back from a joggle (the name i give for somewhere in between a walk/trot/jog/run ) and saw this post and thought how fitting it was, physically and emotionally. Counselling is all about the little steps combined with at times giant steps that can occur alongside which enables clients to find their pace and create their stride. It’s hard when we want elements of our life to improve quickly and when we stop fighting that notion then the speed for healing increases. To everyone in counselling or thinking about it – little steps, there are counsellors like - Read More
